Apostle Philip

died c. 80 · Hierapolis, Phrygia · Feast November 14

Philip came from Bethsaida, like Peter and Andrew. Christ said to him, “Follow me,” and Philip found Nathanael and told him, “Come and see.” At the Last Supper he asked, “Lord, show us the Father,” and Christ answered, “He who has seen me has seen the Father.” By tradition he preached in Asia Minor and was crucified at Hierapolis in Phrygia, where his tomb was found by archaeologists in 2011. The Nativity Fast begins the day after his feast.
