The Eastern Cross/Orthodox World/Apostle Thomas

Saint
Apostle Thomas
Thomas was absent when the risen Christ first appeared to the disciples, and he said he would believe only if he touched the wounds. A week later Christ showed him His hands and side, and Thomas cried out, “My Lord and my God!” By tradition he took the Gospel further east than any other Apostle, to India, where the St. Thomas Christians of Kerala still trace their faith to him. He was speared to death at Mylapore, and the San Thome basilica in Chennai stands over his tomb.
