St. Ansgar
Ansgar was a monk of Corbie who volunteered for the dangerous mission to the Danes and Swedes. He built the first church in Sweden at Birka, and became archbishop of Hamburg. Vikings burned Hamburg in 845, but he started again. He lived simply, ransomed slaves, and said that his greatest miracle would be to become a good man.
