St. Christina of Tyre

3rd century · Tyre · Feast July 24

Christina was the daughter of Urban, the pagan governor of Tyre, who kept her in a tower full of gold and silver idols. She came to believe in Christ, broke the idols and gave the pieces to the poor. Her father had her tortured, and she outlived him and two more governors, each of whom tried to break her. She was finally killed with arrows.
