St. Scholastica

c. 480–543 · Monte Cassino · Feast February 10

Scholastica was the twin of St. Benedict and led a community of nuns near Monte Cassino. Once a year she met her brother to talk of God. On their last meeting she begged him to stay the night, and when he refused she prayed, and such a storm broke out that he could not leave. She died three days later, and Benedict saw her soul rise to heaven as a dove.
