Ostrog Monastery

17th century

High in a vertical cliff above the Bjelopavlići valley in Montenegro, St. Basil of Ostrog built a small church in a cave in the 17th century. His incorrupt relics rest there, and the monastery is the most visited pilgrimage site in the Balkans. Pilgrims of every faith come to pray for healing, and many climb the last stretch barefoot.
