Holy Prophet Moses

c. 13th century BC · Mount Nebo · Feast September 4

Moses was saved from the Nile as a baby and raised in Pharaoh’s court. God spoke to him from the Burning Bush on Sinai and sent him to free Israel from slavery. He led the people through the Red Sea, received the Ten Commandments on the mountain, and guided them for forty years in the wilderness. From Mount Nebo God showed him the Promised Land before he died. He appeared with Elijah beside the transfigured Christ.
