Saint
St. Andrei Rublev
Andrei was a monk of the Trinity Lavra and the Andronikov monastery in Moscow. He worked alongside the great painter Theophanes the Greek on the Annunciation Cathedral in the Kremlin, and he painted the churches of Vladimir and Zvenigorod. His icon of the Holy Trinity, the three angels at Abraham’s table, is one of the most famous icons in the world, and a church council in 1551 made it the model for how the Trinity should be painted. He was glorified in 1988.
