St. Anthimos of Chios

Anthimos Vagianos was a shepherd boy of Chios who had a vision of the Theotokos and was healed. He became a monk, then served lepers and the sick at the island’s lazaretto. He founded the convent of the Theotokos Voithia on Chios, and people came from across Greece for his prayers and counsel. He was glorified in 1992.
