St. Juliana of Lazarevo

1530–1604 · Murom · Feast January 2

Juliana Osorina was a landowner’s wife near Murom who raised thirteen children and ran a large household. In years of famine she fed the hungry from her own table and nursed the sick through plague, and she treated her servants as family. After her husband died she gave away everything. She shows that holiness can be lived in a family home.

  • Feast: January 2 (New Calendar)
