Saintle
Guess today’s saint in six tries. Every guess shows how close you are.
Start with any saint you know. Green means a match, gold means close, and the arrows point the way.
How Saintle works
Every day there is one saint to find, the same for everyone. Type any saint’s name and pick them from the list. Each guess is compared with today’s saint in five ways:
- Century: when they lived. Gold means one century away, and the arrow says whether today’s saint is earlier or later.
- Region: where they lived. Gold means a neighbouring region.
- Type: how the Church remembers them: Apostle, Martyr, Bishop, Monastic, Royal, Enlightener of a nation, or Righteous (prophets, laypeople, fools for Christ).
- Feast: the month of their feast day. Gold means one month away.
- Distance: how far your saint lived from today’s saint, with an arrow pointing toward them.
Today’s saint is always one of more than a hundred well-known saints, from the Apostles to the 20th century, but you can guess any of the 302 saints on the Orthodox World globe. After three misses you can see their feast day, and after five, a line from their life. When you finish, read their story and share your result with friends.
Dates follow the New Calendar. Type is the main way each saint is remembered, since many were, for example, both monks and bishops.
