Saint
Apostle Barnabas
Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, sold his field and laid the money at the Apostles’ feet, and they named him Barnabas, “son of encouragement.” He vouched for the newly converted Saul when others feared him, and brought him to Antioch. Together they went on the first missionary journey. Later Barnabas returned to Cyprus with John Mark, and by tradition he was stoned at Salamis. His tomb near Salamis was found in 488.
