St. Spyridon of Trimythous
Spyridon was a married shepherd in Cyprus, known for his humility and his open house, and after his wife died he was made bishop of Trimythous. At the Council of Nicaea, by tradition, he explained the Holy Trinity to a philosopher by squeezing a clay brick: fire shot up, water ran down and clay stayed in his hand, three in one. He went on working with his flocks as a bishop. His incorrupt relics are kept on Corfu, and the islanders say he still walks among them, because the slippers on his feet keep wearing out.
