St. Lazarus the Four-days-dead
Lazarus of Bethany, brother of Martha and Mary, was a friend of Christ. When he had been dead four days, Christ wept at his tomb and called, “Lazarus, come forth,” and he walked out alive. We celebrate it on Lazarus Saturday before Palm Sunday. By tradition he fled persecution to Cyprus and became bishop of Kition, today’s Larnaca, where his tomb lies under the church of St. Lazarus.
