St. John the Russian
John was a Russian soldier captured by the Turks in 1711 and sold as a slave in Cappadocia. His master beat him to make him a Muslim, but he would not, and he lived in the stable with the animals, praying and serving humbly. His master came to revere him. His incorrupt relics were brought to Evia by Greek refugees in 1924 and rest in the village of Prokopi.
