St. Kyriaki the Great Martyr
Kyriaki was born to Christian parents on a Sunday, so they named her for the Lord’s Day. When she refused to marry a pagan, she was handed over to the authorities under Diocletian. She was tortured but healed each time, and she died in prayer just before she was to be beheaded. Her name means “Sunday” in Greek.
