Saint
St. Paisius the Great
Paisius was a young shepherd who became a disciple of St. Pambo at Scetis. He lived for decades in strict fasting and prayer, and by tradition Christ appeared to him. He was known for his love, once carrying an old man up a mountain who turned out to be the Lord. The monastery of St. Pishoy in Wadi Natrun keeps his memory.
