Vigilantius, a priest in Gaul, attacked the honour paid to the relics of the martyrs, vigils at their tombs, and the belief that the saints pray for us. St. Jerome answers him, in one night's writing he says.

Short, fierce, and a useful early witness on the veneration of the saints.
