The Letter of St. Clement to the Corinthians
St. Clement of Rome · image, public domain
Around the end of the first century the church in Corinth threw out its presbyters. St. Clement, bishop of Rome, wrote to call them back to peace, humility and good order.
It is one of the oldest Christian writings outside the New Testament, and some early churches read it aloud in the Liturgy.
