St. Gregory and St. Basil met as students in Athens and stayed friends for life. Two years after Basil died, Gregory gave this long funeral oration: their school days, Basil's work as bishop, his care for the poor and his stand against the emperor.

It is a portrait of one saint by another, and a moving one.
