The Eastern Cross/Library/A Plea for the Christians
A Plea for the Christians
Athenagoras, a Christian philosopher of Athens, wrote to Marcus Aurelius and his son. Christians are called atheists, cannibals and worse, he says; here is what we actually believe and how we actually live.
It is calm, reasoned and clear on the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit a century and a half before Nicaea.
