The Apostolic Constitutions
A large handbook of church life put together in Syria in the late fourth century and set out as if from the apostles: how bishops, priests and deacons should live, how to fast and pray, and a full order of the Liturgy.
It was not written by the apostles, and the Church set it aside at the council in Trullo, apart from its canons. It is still a window onto how Christians worshipped then.
