St. Justin the Philosopher

Justin was a Greek from Samaria who studied every school of philosophy looking for the truth. An old man by the sea told him about the prophets and Christ, and he became a Christian. He opened a school in Rome and wrote Apologies defending the faith, including the oldest description of the Sunday Liturgy. Around 165 he and six of his students were beheaded for refusing to sacrifice to the gods.
