Sts. Sophia, Faith, Hope and Love
Sophia was a Christian widow in Rome whose three daughters were named Faith, Hope and Love, aged twelve, ten and nine. The emperor Hadrian had the girls tortured one by one in front of their mother, and each refused to sacrifice to Artemis. Sophia buried them and died three days later, praying at their tomb. Their names are among the most popular in Orthodox countries.
