St. Philothei of Athens
Revoula Benizelou was a widow of a noble Athenian family who became the nun Philothei. She founded a convent in Athens with a school, a hospital and workshops, and she hid women who had escaped from Turkish harems. On the night of her feast in 1588, Turks broke into the convent and beat her, and she died of her wounds. Her relics rest in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens.
